All the agencies listed below either specialize
in jobs for technical authors or deal in a substantial number of such

All the services listed here had been in continuous
operation for at least a year at the time of publication, so we believe
that this list will continue to be of use for a while. However, the
World-Wide Web is always changing, so it's also worth using a Web search
engine to locate new sites or any sites that may have moved.

JobServe mailing list
- Daily list of both permanent and contract requirements
for computer people, based on information supplied by agencies. A
very useful list; jobs for technical authors appear on it every day.
JobServe can be "filtered" so that the copy you receive
only contains the types of requirements you are interested in. For
example, you can specify that you are only interested in permanent
jobs for technical authors in the north of England.
Send a blank e-mail message to subscribe@jobserve.com.

For jobs in particular locations, check the local
newspapers for advertisements by local employers and check the Yellow
Pages for local employment agencies dealing with technical staff. The
local library may also have information on local businesses. Remember
that
agencies listed in this document may well have
jobs in your area, even if they are based in a different part of the
country.
