The November 2008 event at Heathrow, has been cancelled, however, your Chapter has a number of other events that may be of professional interest.

March 2009 - Moving images and e-learning

June 2009 - AGM and making information accessible

November 2009 - Using Word effectively

In March 2009 will look at how to include moving images in information products, and how they can be used effectively in e-learning.  Details still to be finalised, but this is likely to include information on tools and how best to use them, as well as the theory behind animated and moving images as ways to convey information effectively.

The June event, which includes the first AGM of the UK and Ireland Chapter, will look at how technical communicators can design, enhance, and present their information in ways that make it more easily accessible to people with auditory and visual disabilities.

The November 2009 event will look at how we can use Word more effectively: how templates can be used and writers encouraged to use them; and how Word inputs can be imported into other structured writing tools.
