Are you an experienced Technical Author ideally with experience of writing technical user guides within a scientific or software environment? Do you have exposure to technical authoring tools such as Adobe Framemaker? Are you enthused by the idea of working within a fast paced and dynamic environment?

The Background

Global technology organisation is currently seeking to recruit a Technical Author to support multiple projects and business processes in the writing of technical documentation and user guides. Working within a global environment, this position may offer the opportunity of global travel.

The Responsibilities

Reporting directly to the Documentation Manager, you will be responsible for working with and shadowing Subject Matter Experts (SME’s) to design and develop a series of user documentation. You will manage meetings with SME’s to gather and clarify information, developing rapport and relationships across the business.

You will then take responsibility for the technical writing and authoring of content, relying heavily on the knowledge extracted from the SME’s.

Aside from typical technical writing responsibilities, you will also provide support to other change initiatives such as the development and implementation of standards.

The Professional

As the successful candidate, you will have a background developed in technical writing (ideally user guides) and authoring of content, ideally within the scientific and/or software sectors. You will ideally have experience of authoring scientific software using tools such as Adobe Framemaker. You will be a results driven professional with the ability to offer a high class client and customer support service and you will be happy working within a results and deadline driven environment.

This challenging and diverse role will reward the successful candidate with the opportunity to join a global leader and the chance to work on global assignments.

Please forward your most up-to-date CV together with salary details quoting ref 24449/CP or by calling Chris Pearson on 0845 634 8911.
