One of the good things about STC is how it gives us access to an international network. Nick Rosenthal, Immediate Past President of STC UK, spent a weekend in Germany. A chance mention of this during a conversation with a client resulted in the Berlin LIG (or Local Interest Group) of the Transalpine STC Chapter holding a meeting on Saturday 24 January 2009 to coincide with Nick's visit. 

Ten STC members met up in a cafe in central Berlin, and we discussed everything ranging from places we had worked, to jobs we had done, to how to find the next job, to marketing and websites, to experiences of buying in translation services.

It was a fun way to spend an afternoon. My thanks to Jeff Iezzi for taking the lead on organising it, and to everyone in BLIG for attending!
