<title>STC UK AGM conference and workshop, 21-22 June 2008, Birmingham, UK</title>
			<link>http://www.stcuk.org/content/view/36/13/</link>
<description>Trends in Technical Communication and Introduction to XSL Workshop* Early Bird booking (http://stcuktrendsintechnicalcommunication.eventbrite.com/) discount extended to Saturday 17th May 2008* Click here for the full agenda (content/view/68/13/) Trends in Technical Communication is the theme for our AGM event, which takes place in Birmingham on the weekend of 21st-22nd June 2008. We want to encourage as many people to attend our chapter AGM as possible, to give us your views about what the STC UK Chapter should be doing for you. So the delegate rate for UK Chapter members is just &amp;pound;25 for the Saturday, including buffet lunch, all refreshments and even the chocolate and champagne (and orange juice!) Presidents&amp;#39; Reception. You can use our new online booking facility (http://stcuktrendsintechnicalcommunication.eventbrite.com/) for the Trends in Technical Communication and Chapter AGM event at: http://stcuktrendsintechnicalcommunication.eventbrite.com (http://stcuktrendsintechnicalcommunication.eventbrite.com/)If you find the booking system too difficult please contact Ant Davey directly via email (mailto:ant.stc.uk@googlemail.com) or by phone on 020 7554 4626 (w)As we have only just been able to announce the full agenda (content/view/68/13/) for the weekend, the Early Bird booking period has been extended until 23:59 on Saturday 17th May.Highly respected trainer, consultant and writer Sarah O&amp;#39;Keefe of Scriptorium will be flying in from North Carolina to be our keynote speaker, rounding off the first day by talking to us about organisational paradigm shifts. This sounds dry stuff - but it isn&amp;#39;t! It is all about how people cope with change, and it affects us all.As well as wisdom and insight from Sarah O&amp;#39;Keefe, Ant Davey will be offering his thoughts and leading a discussion on change management in the field of technical communication, and Shannon Milsom, senior technical author at CSR plc (http://www.csr.com/home.php) (mobile communications technologists), will tell us about her personal experiences while implementing a CMS. Sunday will feature an Introduction to XSL workshop lead by Sarah, so bring your laptop with you. This is a great opportunity to get the benefit of Sarah&amp;#39;s three-day workshop on XSL. </description>
