The venue

We are at the Møller Centre at Churchill College, Cambridge. This purpose built conference centre and the college are situated in peaceful park land just outside the city centre. Because of its location and modern design there is easy access for wheelchair users and plenty of parking and easy access for car drivers.

Getting there by road is easy with convenient road access to the A14 and M11. Cambridge rail station has services to London and the Midlands and Stanstead airport. Other destinations are served via London (Kings Cross or Liverpool Street). All local and long distance bus services stop in or close to the city centre bus station (Drummer Street or Parkside).

Accommodation

Overnight Accommodation is available at the conference centre. It is in twin bedded or double en-suite rooms used for single occupancy at £69 per delegate bed & breakfast. Double occupancy is £89.

To book accommodation at the Møller Centre please contact the Møller Centre direct. Phone 01223 465 556 and speak to Louise Case. You can book by email to louise.case@chu.cam.ac.uk. Social events

As well as plenty of time to socialise and network with fellow delegates and speakers we are planning two special social events for delegates and guests.

Punting

On Saturday late afternoon there is a chauffeured punting trip on the River Cam (aka river Granta). With a chauffeur there is no (well little) chance of getting a wetting in the river. This is event is an extra cost to be confirmed.

Dinner

At 8pm we will have a fine dining meal in a Cambridge College. This is event is at an extra cost, to be confirmed.

What to do in Cambridge

Cambridge has been the “alma mater” to many a famous name, such as, Darwin, Newton, AA Milne, Wordsworth, William Wilberforce, John Cleese, Graham Chapman, Eric Idle and Stephen Hawking. There are many historic college sites to see in the old city centre, such as St John’s College’s bridge of sighs, Trinity College’s famous court and fountain, and King’s College’s world famous chapel. Many of the other colleges are open to the public. There is a vibrant market in the square. Open top buses also tour the city and walking tours by “blue badge” guides are also available. Stroll along the “backs” to get the best classical views of the Cambridge Colleges.

For the shopoholic Cambridge has many small specialist shops as well as a two shopping centres with all the high street stores including Robert Sayle (the local branch of John Lewis) and Debenhams.

Why not spend some time with Rupert Brooke and see if there is still honey for tea at the Orchard Tea rooms; a bracing walk along the river bank from the city centre.
